William Dale "Smiley" Shade, age 65, of 342 Grove Drive, Hegins, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012 at his residence. He was born on Sunday, January 5, 1947, in Fearnot, a son of Clayton W "Blabber" and June I Herb Shade of Sacramento. He was a 1964 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. He served in the US Army as an MP during the Viet Nam War. He retired as a lieutenant with the State Correctional Institute Facility at Frackville. He was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Fearnot. He was also a member of F&AM Valley Lodge 797, Valley View and the Harrisburg Consistory. Bill enjoyed fishing, going to sales and auctions, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Beverly A Miller Shade, to whom he was married for 45 years. Surviving in addition to his parents and his wife are a son Gregory D Shade and his fiancée Karona of Valley View; a grandson Joshua D Lentz of Hegins; a brother Marlin Shade of Sacramento; two sisters Diane Labinski and Drinda Swab both of Hegins; and several nieces and nephews. Private services were held at the convenience of the family at St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Fearnot, with Rev.William Danis officiating Burial was made in St. Peter's Cemetery, Fearnot.
