He was born in Strasburg, Pa on October 24, 1932, a son of the late Martin Lyte and Mary M. (Hartstein) Reardon. He was a 1950 graduate of East Hempfield High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the former owner of the Pick and Shovel Inn, Donaldson, Pa. After selling the business he worked for 10 years as a salesman for a brewery He was an avid wood carver Surviving is his wife of 45 years Shirley A. (Wagner) Reardon. Surviving in addition to his wife is a son William M Reardon, Indianapolis, IN; two daughters Melanie Lynne wife of Clyde Brewer, Harrison, Ark and Beth Ann wife of Michael Leahey, Orlando, FL; one brother Richard Reardon, Lancaster, Pa., 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers Martin L. and Charles I. Reardon, and by a sister Mary M. White. A viewing was held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21 and from 10 to 11 a.m.on Wednesday June 22, at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View. Funeral Services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, Pa. at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, June 22nd, with Rev. William Danis officiating. Private family internment was made in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville, Pa.. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pinnacle Health Hospice. 301 One Norewgian Plaza, Pottsville PA 17901 or to the Good Samaritan Cancer Center, 4th and Willow Sts., Lebanon PA 17042.
