William J. Klouser Sr., age 88, of Waterbridge, Pine Grove, formerly of Spring Glen, PA, Stoney Creek, PA, and Great Mills, MD, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Waterbridge. He was born on Wednesday, June 14, 1922, in Valley View, a son of the late Dewey C R Klouser and Lizzie (Kehler) Klouser. He was a graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School. He served in the 19th Air Depot Group in the US Army in World War II. He was employed as a draftsman for the federal government. After retirement he was a writer for the Citizens Standard, Valley View and the Country News, Millersburg. He had attended the Valley View Church of God. He was a member of VFW Post 8237 Valley View. Bill enjoyed woodcarving, leather working, glass etching, specialty lettering, and Pennsylvania Dutch artwork. He was proud of his Pennsylvania Dutch heritage; and had written Pennsylvania Dutch articles. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Nestler, Ellen Schrope, and Emily Schwalm. He is survived by his wife Anna M (Hornberger) Klouser, to whom he was married for 62 years. He is also survived by a daughter Linda E McNeely of Duncannon; a son William J Klouser Jr. of Lancaster; two granddaughters Lisa A Lowe and her husband Barry of Newport and Kelly R Berger and her husband Samuel of Duncannon; and a great granddaughter Audrey R Berger of Duncannon; . Services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at 11 AM, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. A viewing was held from 10 AM to 11 AM on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial was made in the Church of God Cemetery, Valley View.
