William J. "Jake" Gilbert, age 83, of 688 Church Road Hegins. passed away Tuesday, July 17th, 2007 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. He was born in Spring Glen, on October 31, 1923, a son of the late Jacob and Maude E. (Carl) Gilbert. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He also served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WW II. He was a self employed barber. He was a member of the Tri-Valley Bible Church, Sacramento, Pa. His first wife Ruby J (Steele) Gilbert died Dec 19, 1998. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Joyce, two sons William and John, by an infant son; by a grandson Vincent Gustitus III; and by a brother Richard L Gilbert. He is survived by his wife Alberta M (Kehler) Gilbert.; by two daughters Katherine G wife of Dallas Miller of Hegins and Alice J wife of Vincent Gustitus, Jr. of Harrisburg; a son Gerald L husband of Connie Gilbert of Hegins; two step daughters Bonita E wife of Gene Paul of Lake Preston, South Dakota and Trudy M Klinger of Dornsife; three step sons David D husband of Chris Klinger of Postville, Iowa, Stephen L husband of Marlene Klinger of Elizabethville and Michael A husband of Cindy Klinger of Lewisberry; nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Tri-Valley Bible Church, Sacramento, Pa, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 21st, with Rev. Dennis O'Brien officiating. A viewing was held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Burial was made in Calvary United Methodist Cemetery, Wiconisco. Memorial contributions can be made to Tri-Valley Bible Church, P.O.
