William F. "Fritz" Hoy Jr., age 80, of 217 E Main Street, Tremont, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Schuylkill Medical Center- E Norwegian, Pottsville. He was born on Tuesday, November 17, 1931, in Tremont, a son of the late William F. "Fred" Hoy. Sr and Gwynneth H Krissinger Hoy. He was a 1949 graduate of the former Tremont High School. He served in the US Air Force in a hurricane hunter squadron in the south Atlantic during the Korean War. He was the supervisor of the plumbing shop at the Lebanon VA Hospital until his retirement. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Tremont; where he was a trustee, lay leader, member of the PPRC committee, treasurer, and president of the administrative board. He was also a member of F&AM Swatara Lodge 267, Tremont. Fritz enjoyed camping, singing, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty J Herring. He is survived by his wife Rose M (Kintzel) Hoy, to whom he was married for 58 years. He is also survived by a son TimothyW Hoy and his wife Karen of Pine Grove; two daughters Patricia A Koshulsky and her husband Stephen of Tremont, and Darlene M Miller and her husband Kevin of Halifax; three grandsons Brian K Koshulsky of Chesapeake, VA, Gary J Wertz, Jr. of Orwigsburg, and Matthew P Wertz of Pine Grove; two granddaughters Amanda K DesRosiers of Reisville and Jadzia T Hoy of Pine Grove; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at St. John's United Methodist Church, Tremont, on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Donald Boyd officiating. A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday at the church. Burial was made in the German Reformed Cemetery, Tremont.
