Willard Frederick Becker, age 85, of 717 W Main St, Valley View, died Monday, September 18th, 2006 at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville. He was born in Mt Carmel, on October 12, 1920, a son of the late D. Frank and Minnie (Lucas) Becker. He was a 1938 graduate of Ashland High School and received his Medical Technology in 1947 from Harrisburg Hospital. He served in the U.S. Army as a SSG in WW II. He retired as a Medical Technologist at the Tri-Valley Medical Center Valley View. He was a Hegins Twp Zoning Officer for 35 years. He was a member of the Weishample Church of God; where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Elder for many years. He was a lifetime member of the American Medical Technologists; a member of F&AM Valley Lodge 797, Valley View; a lifetime member of VFW Post 8237 and a member of American Legion Post 575 both of Valley View. He is survived by his wife Betty V (Shoffler) Becker; to whom he was married for 59 years Surviving in addition to his wife are a son Dr. Ward G husband of Linda Becker, Kutztown; a daughter Roxanne M Wenrich, Hegins; two grandsons David E Wenrich, Jr, Tower City and Matthew D Becker, Kutztown; three granddaughters Dawn R Wenrich, Sacramento, Susan M Hillman, Lancaster, and Amanda J Wenrich, Philadelphia; a great grandson David E Wenrich, III, Tower City; two great granddaughters Caitlyn A Zerby, Tower City and Annie J Wenrich, Sacremento. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 21st, with Rev John Ashbaugh officiating. A viewing was held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be made at convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
