Wesley L Carl

Wesley Lamar Carl Sr., age 69, of 7 Brookview Lane, Hegins, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born on Thursday, March 1, 1945, in Ashland, PA, the son of the late William and Mabel Carl.

He attended a one room school house in the Lavelle Area and the Line Mountain High School .

He was employed as a Coal Miner, worked road construction with Eastern Industries and was a laborer for Metal Industries.

He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Hegins.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog Sparky, making wine, fishing, hunting, woodworking, gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Raymond, Marlin, James, and Walter, and four sisters, Catherine, Florence, Sallie and Helen.

He is survived by his wife Nancy (Klinger) Carl, to whom he was married for 50 years.

He is also survived by three daughters, Leslie Gilda and her husband Alan of Freeburg, Teresa Perna and her companion Dean Bauer of Barto and Aislyn Wood of Pottsville; one son, Wesley L. Carl Jr. and his wife Amy of Valley View; seven grandchildren, Elexa Lubold, Emerald Zedonek and her husband John, Nick Carl, Chrissy Carl, Harrison Fetterolf, Emerson Fetterolf, Victor Stehr; one brother, Albert Carl; three sisters, Margaret Straub, Ellen Drumheller, Carolyn Schaeffer and many nieces and nephews.

Services where held at St. John's United Methodist Church, Hegins PA, on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at 11:00 am, with Rev. William Danis officiating and Rev. Gail Boyer assisting.

A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at St. John's United Methodist Church.

Burial was made in St. John's Cemetery, Hegins PA.
