Wendy M Geist, age 73, of Hegins, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on Monday, May 7, 1951, in Harrisburg, a daughter of the late William Straub and the late Naomi (Klinger) Straub.

She was a graduate of Upper Dauphin Area High School.

Wendy was a seamstress for area garment factories and also worked at Top Star, Valley View, prior to her retirement.

Her husband, James M Geist, passed away in 2011. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Terry Straub.

She is survived by two sons, C. James Shoop, Jr of Trevorton and Patrick T Shoop of Herndon; a daughter, Kimberlee A Carpenter of Valley View; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Inc, Valley View, on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating.

Burial will be in Church of God Cemetery, Valley View.
