Ward Roadcap, Jr. , age 92, of Millersburg, formerly of Spring Glen, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Premier at Susquehanna, Millersburg.
He was born on Tuesday, December 1, 1925, in Fulks Run, VA, a son of the late Ward Roadcap Sr. and the late Mary A Rinker Roadcap.
He was the owner of the former Roadcap Dodge and Roadcap Trucking of Spring Glen.
He was a member of Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz.
Ward was also a Charter Member and Past Trustee of FandAM Valley Lodge #797 Valley View; a member and past Grand Tall of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Millersburg Forest #125; a former member of the Harrisburg Consistory; a life member of the Gratz Fire Company; a founding member of the former Gratz Area Ambulance Association; a member of the Gratz Fair Association; and a former member of the Simeon United Lutheran Church Council.
His wife Eleanor E Umholtz Roadcap passed away in 2017. He was also preceded in death by his parents; by a grandson Derrick B Roadcap; a brother, Stanley Roadcap; and by two sisters, Rita Warner and Eunice Lower.
He is survived by three sons, Karl K Roadcap and his wife Barbara of Spring Glen, Gary L Roadcap and his wife Ellen of Jonestown, and Steven C Roadcap and his wife Connie of Elkview,WV; a daughter, Carol A Klinger and her husband Dale of Gratz; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Less C Roadcap of Millersburg; a sister, Margie Bellis of Millersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz, on Friday, October 19, 2018, at 12:00 pm, with Rev. Gregory Lindsey and Rev. Robert Logan officiating.
Masonic services were held at 10:30 am with a viewing from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday at the church.
Burial was made in Union Cemetery, Gratz.
