Virginia R "Ginny" Wiest, age 65, of Gratz, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, May 2, 2016 at her residence.

She was born on Wednesday, December 20, 1950, in Danville, a daughter of the late John Penman and the late Lois L Elsea Penman Ney.

She was a 1968 graduate of Mt Carmel High School.

She and her husband owned and operated Wiest RV of Gratz.

She was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Fountain; where she was very active in the church choir.

She was also a member of the Ashland Chapter 154 Order of Eastern Star, and a board member of the Gratz Fair Association.

Ginny enjoyed crocheting, crafts, arranging flowers, camping and traveling to Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her step father, Carl D Ney, and a step sister, Linda Ney.

She is survived by her husband Bryant D Wiest, to whom she was married for 20 years.

She is also survived by a son, Cristopher K Holdeman and his wife Tiffany of Broomall; two grandsons, Andrew C Holdeman and Jacob C Holdeman both of Broomall; and a step brother, Carl S Ney of Montoursville.

Funeral services were held at Christ United Church of Christ, Fountain, on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Michael C Klahr and Rev. Claude Schach officiating.

A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday at the church.

Burial was made in Fountain Community Cemetery.
