Valentine Ancel Herner, age 83, of Temple, Pa. died Friday, December 9th, 2005 at the Reading Hospital, Reading, Pa.. He was born in Donaldson, Pa. on October 24, 1922, a son of the late Valentine E and Mabel (Williams) Herner. He was a graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School. He retried as a machinist from RTC Direct Mailing Shoemakersville, Pa. He was preceded in death by his first wife Jean Huratiak Herner, by a son Paul A Herner, by a brother Bruce Herner, and by a stepmother Verna Williams Herner He is survived by his wife Arlene C. (Yoder) Herner. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter Joyce L wife of Denton Berckey, Temple, Pa; a sister Arlene Lesher, Sacramento, Pa; a grandson Loren J Berckey, Reading, Pa; a granddaughter Erin L Berckey, Temple, Pa; and a great granddaughter Taylor M Adams, Temple, Pa. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, Pa. at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13th, with Rev. Dennis Huratiak officiating.
