Twila M. Savidge, age 99, of 12 Brook Street, Hegins, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Schuylkill Medical Center- E Norwegian, Pottsville. Twila had resided at Schoolyard Square, Pine Grove, for the past four years. She was born on Friday, October 27, 1911, in Hegins, a daughter of the late Irvin E and Mamie A (Bixler) Artz. She was a 1929 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Hegins. She was also a member of the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens, the former Daughters of American, Hegins, and the former Hegins Garden Club. Twila enjoyed quilting and tatting. Her husband Norman E Savidge passed away in 1994. She is survived by a daughter Alice R Sprout and her husband Fred of Rose, NY; a son Irvin R Savidge of Arvada, CO; two grandsons Eric R Sprout of Rose, NY and Jon N Sprout and his wife Angie of Lexington, KY; two great grandsons J Parker Sprout and Noah A Sprout both of Lexington, KY. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Friday, February 11, 2011, at 3:00 PM, with Rev. William Danis officiating assisted by Rev. Robert Stokes. A viewing was held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Burial was made in St. John's Cemetery, Hegins. Condolences can be left for the family at www.buffingtonreed.com .
