Trent H Otto, age 90, of Fountain, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Providence Place, Pine Grove.
He was born on Monday, January 15, 1934, in Hegins, a son of the late Herman C Otto and the late Mae (Kauffman) Otto.
Trent was a 1953 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School and also attended Penn State University.
He was a farmer, former owner of Hegins Valley Concrete, worked at Bonnie's Ceramics, Richmond Screw and Anchor, and retired from Moen, Pine Grove.
He was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Fountain.
He served as custodian of his church for years. He was a member of Valley Lodge 797 FandAM, Valley View, a former of the Most Excellent High Priest of the Tremont Royal Arch Chapter 221, and a former member of the Prince of Peace Commandery No. 39. Trent was also a member of the Men in Harmony and the Christ UCC Fountainaires.
His wife, Nancy I (Deiter) Otto, passed away in 2012. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jay M Otto and Palmer K Otto, and two sisters, Lorna L Umholtz and Mary E Huntzinger.
He is survived by two sons, Gregory J (Vicki) Otto of Fountain and Clinton J (Molly) Otto of Fountain; three grandchildren, Valerie L (Jason) Pennypacker, Kimberly A (Jeff) Mattis, and Marsha J (Mike) Begis; eight great-grandchildren, Alexis (Owen) Daniel, Mikenna Mattis, Kole Mattis, Mason Begis, Jaelyn Pennypacker, Mitchell Begis, Allie Pennypacker, and Matthew Begis; a great great grandchild, Jay Daniel; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Christ's United Church of Christ, Fountain, on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Michael C Klahr officiating.
Masonic services will be held at 9:45 am at the church. A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at the church..
Burial will be in Fountain Community Cemetery, Hegins.
