Obituary
Thomas J Schrope, age 76, of Birmingham AL, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025 at Grandview Medical Center, Birmingham.
He was born on Monday, January 17, 1949, in New Brunswick, NJ, a son of the late John W Schrope and the late Ellen M (Klouser) Schrope.
He was a graduate of Somerville High School, Somerville NJ, received his bachelors degree from Ball State University, and received his master's degree from New York University.
Tom was an urban planner for PBS&J, Birmingham AL prior to his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by two sisters, Mary Ellen Gaestel and Vickie J Hrabovecky.
He is survived by a sister, Dr. Beth A Schrope and her husband Ari Naim of Tenafly, NJ; brother, David D Schrope of Port Murray, NJ; two nephews, Jacob Naim and Isaac Naim; and his beloved cats Katie and Phoebe.
Burial will be in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
