Thomas D. Coleman, age 89, of , Valley View, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tremont, PA. He was born April 6, 1923 in Sacramento, a son of the late and Homer and Annetta (Umholtz) Coleman. He was a graduate of Hubley Township High School and served in the Army Air Corps. during WWII. He was a coal miner, owning and operating his own mine and worked as a machinist at TRW in Harrisburg. Tom belonged to the American Legion and various hunting clubs in the area.. He was preceded in death by an infant son Craig Coleman. one sister Ruth Schwalm and an infant brother. He is survived by his wife Jean (Wolfgang) Coleman, to whom he was married for 62 years. He is also survived by three children, Linda Klinger and her husband Dennis of Valley View, Donna Ressler and her husband David of West Chester, OH and James Coleman of Frackville , two granddaughters, Angela Lurie, and Maria Ressler; one great grandson Noah Lurie; four sisters Mary Koppenhaver, Marie Spotts, Marcella Stutzman and Devonna Leiberman; as well as nieces and nephews. Visitation was held Monday March, 25, 2013 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at the Valley View Church of God, where the memorial service followed at 11:30 am. Private interment will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, Pennsylvania was in charge of arrangements.
