Thomas W "Chet" Wetzel, age 57, of Hegins, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on Wednesday, April 23, 1958, in Pottsville, a son of Ralph H and Ruth A Ely Wetzel of Hegins.

He was a 1976 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and a graduate of Penn State University.

He served in the US Coast Guard.

He was an electrician for The Hershey Company for 19 years.

He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins.
Chet was also a member of the Valley View Gun Club, VFW Post 8237 Valley View, American Legion Post 575, Valley View, and the Scrub Club Hunting Camp of Clinton County.

Chet enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to camp, and was an avid reader.

He is survived by his wife Sherri A Keisch Wetzel, to whom he was married for 17 years.

Surviving in addition to his parents and his wife are two brothers, Roy "Squeak" Wetzel of Chambersburg and Kenneth "Ben" Wetzel of Hegins; three sisters, Barbara Ramsey of Mifflintown, Jessica Henninger of Hegins, and Melissa Dando of Cumbola; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Warren Egebo officiating.

A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home.
