Terry D. "Terenzio" Riegel, age 62, of 251 S.9th St., Lebanon, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2008 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. He was born October 11, 1946 in Sunbury, a son of Martha L. (Klinger) Riegel of Gratz and the late Samuel A Riegel. He was a 1964 graduate of West Chester High School, a graduate of Millersville University with a degree in elementary education and a minor in music, he studied the art of violin making in Italy for three years under master violin makers Pietro Sgarrabotto and G.B. Morassi. He was the owner of Terenzio Violins, Lebanon. He had previously owned violin businesses in Boston, Lancaster, and Valley View. He was a member of Lebanon Valley Church of Christ. He was respected throughout the world for his talents in the art of violin making. He was a former violinist in several orchestras. He loved classical music, Victorian architecture, oriental rugs, and photography. Surviving in addition to his mother are two brothers, Larry L Riegel of West Chester and Ted L Riegel and his wife, Kathleen of Gratz; two nieces, two nephews, fourteen cousins, and three aunts. Services were held at Zion Church, Herndon, on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 11 a.m with Rev. Michael Ware officiating, assisted by Carl Carpenter and Weldon Winebarger. A viewing was held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Burial was made in Herndon Cemetery. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
