Shirley I Harring, age 92, of 701 W Main Street, Valley View, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the Penn State Milton S Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. She was born on Monday, June 6, 1921, in Pitman, a daughter of the late Lewis and Mary Ellen Wetzel Snyder. She was an assembler for the former Hegins Precision Division of Penn Reel. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church, Pitman. Shirley was also a member of the Woodman of the World Pitman Lodge. She enjoyed quilting, crafts, and doing puzzles. Her husband Willard N. "Bill" Harring passed away in 2005. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Frank Snyder and Clifford Snyder; and by five sisters Gertrude Ochenrider, Pearl Mauser, Viola Deibert, Dorothy Knarr, and Carrie Sollener. She is survived by a sister, Beatrice L Herb of Cressona, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Monday, April 21, 2014, at 10:00 am, with Rev. Todd Wolfe officiating. A viewing was held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Monday at the funeral home. Burial was made in St. Paul's Cemetery, Pitman.
