Santino Sabatino, age 87, of 192 Deep Creek Road, Hegins, died Friday, October 6th, 2006 at St. Catherine's Hospital, Ashland. He was born in Hegins, on May 4, 1919, a son of the late Dominic and Elizabeth (D'Amico) Sabatino. He retired as a Coal Miner from Hegins Mining Hegins. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church Valley View. He is survived by his wife Eva R (Schwalm) Sabatino, to whom he was married for 64 years. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters Rachael E Green, Ashland and Sandra E. Sabatino, Millersburg; six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; five sisters Rose Ely, Hegins, Mildred Hentz, Hegins, Florence Rebuck, Pottsville, Mary Frey, Carlisle, and Sally Hinks, Lebanon, He was preceded in death by two brothers Phillip and Nicholas Sabatino and by a grandson Richard J Green. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with Rev. Philip Sabas officiating. Burial was made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View.
