Obituary

Samuel Franklin Klinger, age 86, of 773 Deep Creek Road, Hegins, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at the Reading Hospital. He was born on Wednesday, March 12, 1924, in Barry Twp, a son of the late Leroy Klinger and Elizabeth (Neiswander) Klinger. He served in the Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a superintendent and mine foreman for the former Kocher Coal Co., Valley View. He was a member of Salem Barry United Methodist Church, Weishample. He was also a member of F&AM Valley Lodge 797 Valley View, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Lodge 125 Millersburg, and American Legion Post 575 Valley View. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Arlene (Klinger) Klinger in 1998. He is survived by a son Ronald L Klinger of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a daughter Melodye A. Boyer of Shoemakersville; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Salem Cemetery, Weishample.
