Ruth Evelyn Schwalm, 91, of the Polk Personal Care Center, Millersburg, formerly of Valley View, passed away Thursday, December 13th, 2007 at the Harrisburg Hospital. She was born in Valley View, on November 15, 1916, a daughter of the late Abner Ralph and Helen Mabel (Ossman) Koppenhaver. She was a 1933 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School and a 1934 graduate of Bowling Green Business University, Bowling Green, KY She was a teller at the former Meridian Bank, Valley View. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View and the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens. She is survived by her husband George H. Schwalm, to whom she was married for 55 years. She is also survived by a sister Geraldine Conrad of Valley View and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a two brothers Herman Koppenhaver and Robert Koppenhaver and by three sisters Carona Yoder, Mabel Spotts, and Isabelle Foltz. Memorial Services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18th, with Rev. Carl Shankweiler officiating.
