Ruth Alice James, age 76, of 2122 E Main Street, Valley View. passed away Sunday, April 1st, 2007 at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown. She was born in Broderick, Calif. on January 26, 1931, a daughter of the late John and Elmira (Everett) Brophy. She retired from the former Johnson and Bailie Shoe Co. Millersburg. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View. She was the widow of Russell K. James. She was also preceded in death by three infant daughters. She is survived by two daughters Sally J Piefer of Gratz and Betty M James of Valley View, and by three grandchildren. Graveside Services were held St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4th, with Rev. Philip Sabas officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, 214 Airport Road, Minersville PA 17954.
