Click here to view the Video Tribute for Russell Russell Frank Dietrich, age 81, of 204 Gap St, Valley View, died Tuesday, July 25th, 2006 at his residence. He was born in Spring Glen, on August 29, 1924, a son of the late Harry W and Verna M (Schadle) Dietrich. He was a 1942 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School. He served as a Staff Sgt in the Army with the 534th Amphibious Trac Battalion in the Philippines during World War II. He was a self employed Masonry Contractor for 45 years.. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Valley View. He was also a Charter Member, Past Master, and Treasurer of Valley Lodge 797, Valley View; President of the Valley Lodge Hall Association for 39 years; a 33 degree member of the Harrisburg Consistory ; Past President of the Schuylkill Scottish Rite Club; member of the Rajah Temple Reading; member and Past President of the Schuylkill Shrine Club; member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Millersburg Forest 125; a Past High Priest of the Tremont Royal Arch Chapter 225; member of the Prince of Peace Commandery No 39 Ashland: and Past Thrice Potent Master of the Harrisburg Lodge of Perfection. He was a member of VFW Post 8235 and American Legion Post 575 both of Valley View; a member of the Valley View Fire Company, and a Representative on the Joint Building Authority for IU #29. He is survived by his wife Jean K. (Hepler) Dietrich, to whom he was married for 55 years Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters Sherry R wife of James McDonald, Valley View; Robin J wife of Rick Otto, Valley View; and Lisa L wife of James Emerich, Flower Mound, Texas; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers Daniel Dietrich, Spring Glen and Ray Dietrich, Seven Valleys; and two sisters Mary Dietrich, West Chester and Vera Miller, Hegins. He was preceded in death by two brothers George and William Dietrich and four sisters Sarah Morgan, Maude Ebert, Hannah Maurer, and May Dietrich. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 29th, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. A viewing was held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Masonic services were held at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
