Ruby Jewel Artz, age 54, of 487 S Goodspring Road, Hegins, died Monday, July 31st, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville. She was born in Beckley, West Virginia on August 16, 1951, a daughter of the late James E and Ruby E Flannery. She was employed as a Food Inspector at US Department of Agriculture Fredericksburg, Pa. She was of the Protestant Faith. She is survived by her husband Robert L. Artz, Sr., to whom she was married for 38 years. Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons Robert L, Jr. husband of Carol Artz, Selinsgrove and Jonas E husband of Kathy Artz, Spring Glen; one daughter Teresa M wife of Michael Schwalm, Hegins; seven grandchildren; three brothers George Flannery, Tremont, Raymond Flannery, Maryland, and Robert Dean Flannery, Hegins. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 3rd, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating.
