Roy William Herb, age 82, of 1212 West Mountain Road, Fearnot, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at his home. He was born on Wednesday, November 23, 1927 in Hegins, a son of the late Norman D Herb and the late Stella M (Hornberger) Herb. He had been a coal miner and had retired from the former TRW, Harrisburg. He was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Fearnot. He was also a life member of the Valley View Fire Company. He was preceded in death by a sister Ruth Smeltz. He is survived by his wife, Jean R Herb, to whom he was married for 64 years. He is also survived by a son, Terry L Herb and his wife, Dianne of Erdman; a daughter, Karen L Wilson and her husband, Mark of Valley View; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Fearnot, on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William Danis officiating. A viewing was held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the church. Burial was made in St. Peter's Cemetery, Fearnot.
