Roscoe Earl Blyler, age 87, of 1455 W Maple St, Valley View, Pa., died Sunday, Feb 12, 2006 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, Pa. He was born in Lykens, Pa on April, 26, 1918, a son of the late Harry E and Nina H (Rettinger) Blyler. He was a 1936 graduate of the former Lykens High School and a 1944 graduate of Penn State University. He served in the U.S. Army as Cpl in WWII, receiving five bronze stars and one bronze arrowhead. He was employed as a Mechanical Engineer at the U.S. Department of Defense, Washington DC until his retirement. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, Pa. He was also a member of the West Palm Beach Governors Club, the Old Point Yacht Club, West Palm Beach, FL, and a former member of the Royal Poinciana Chapel, Palm Beach, FL He was the widower of Irene E (Starr) Blyler. His second wife Edith J. (Hanson) Blyler died in 1997. He is survived by one sister Marjorie L Anderson, Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He was preceded in death by two brothers Paul D. Blyer and Ray A. Blyler, and by a sister Marie E. Donahue. Memorial Services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, Pa, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2006, with Rev. Carl Shankweiler officiating. Interment was private at the convenience of the family in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville, Pa. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, Pa, was in charge of arrangements.
