Obituary

Roger L Romberger, age 81, of 933 E Main Street, Hegins, passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at Schuylkill Medical Center- E Norwegian, Pottsville. He was born on Friday, February 21, 1931, in Hegins, a son of the late Charles Romberger and Eva Dietrich Romberger. He was a 1948 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School. He served for twenty-two years in the US Air Force. He also drove school bus for many years for the Tri-Valley School District. He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins. He was also a member of VFW Post 8237 and American Legion Post 575 both of Valley View, and the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens. Roger enjoyed reading and traveling. His wife Kathryn E Romberger passed away in 1989. He was also preceded in death by a sister Alice Romberger. He is survived by two sons Michael R Romberger and his wife Samantha of York and Richard L Romberger and his wife Linda of Lakeland, GA; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a companion Lena Shadel of Hegins; a sister Jean Morgan of Hegins; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at 11 am, with Rev. Warren Egebo officiating. A viewing was held from 10 am to 11 am on Tuesday at Friedens Lutheran Church. Burial with military honors was made in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville at 12:30 pm on Tuesday. Memorial contributions can be made to Friedens Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 375, Hegins, PA 17938. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
