Click here to view the Video Tribute for Robert. Robert A Schwartz , age 97, of 55 Penny Lane, Hegins, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on Saturday, April 18, 1914, in Hegins Twp, a son of the lateWilliam F and Maude M (Stutzman) Schwartz. He and his wife owned and operated several farms in the area prior to their retirement. He was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Association. In his younger years Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. He and his wife had traveled to all of the 50 states. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Eleanore K Raup, a grandson Wilmer L Maurer, Jr; a brother William Schwartz, and three sisters Marie Herb, Isabelle Coleman, and Tillie Huntzinger. He is survived by his wife Hannah N (Huntzinger) Schwartz, to whom he was married for 78 years. He is also survived by a son Robert W Schwartz and his wife Judith of Lykens Twp; a daughter Majorie B Maurer and her husband Wilmer of Hegins; 15 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 53 great great grandchildren; a sister Margaret Markowitz of Chambersburg; and serveral nieces and nephew. Funeral services were held at Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins, on Thursday, December 15, 2011, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Claude Schach officiating. A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday at the church. Burial was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins. Memorial contributions can be made to Friedens United Church of Christ, P.O.
