Robert Lee Schucker, age 87, of 719 E Chestnut Street, Hegins, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Pottsville Hospital. He was born on Thursday, December 9, 1920 in Hegins, a son of the late Robert L Schucker, Sr. and the late Susan L (Baum) Schucker. He was a 1938 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School . He served in the US Army during World War II. He retired as a press operator for the former Alcoa Aluminum of Cressona. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Hegins. He was also a member of VFW Post 8237 of Valley View. He was preceded in death by a brother Leroy Schucker and a sister Martha Neumeister. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy A Schucker, to whom he was married for 55 years. He is also survived by two sons, Larry M Schucker of Williamstown and Lee R Schucker and his wife, Alice of Hegins; a daughter, Linda S Hughes and her husband, Harold of Chambersburg; a brother, Carl Schucker of Ocala, FL; three grandsons and two granddaughters. Services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Monday, February 11, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William Danis officiating. A viewing was held Monday, February 11 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial was made in St. John's Cemetery, Hegins Condolences can be left for the family at www.buffingtonreed.com .
