Click here to view the Video Tribute for Bobby. Robert L "Bobby" Mattis, Jr , age 43, of 1006 W Mountain Road, Hegins, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 16, 2013. He was born on Wednesday, January 14, 1970, in Pottsville, a son of Robert L Mattis, Sr and Susan M Smith Mattis of Sacramento. He was a 1990 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. He was a truck driver for JB Hunt. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sacramento. He was also a member of the Sacramento Fire Company for 24 years and the Hegins Ambulance Association. Bobby was an avid hunter and enjoyed surf fishing. He is survived by his wife Heather A Schwalm Mattis, to whom he was married for 20 years. Surviving in addition to his parents and his wife are a son Colby R Mattis and a daughter Abigail E Mattis both of Hegins; a brother Jeffrey Mattis and his wife Kim of Hegins; and a sister Tammy L Girard of Spring Glen. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Monday, October 21, 2013, at 7:00 pm, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating.
