Robert George Kessler, age 85, of 8669 Rt 25, Spring Glen, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Saint Catherine Medical Center, Fountain Springs. He was born on Wednesday, May 28, 1924 in Erdman, a son of the late George Earl Kessler and the late Annie (Martz) Kessler. He served as a Staff Sgt. in the Army during WWII. He was a self employed truck driver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Kessler, on March 17, 2000. He was also preceded in death by three brothers Wayne, John and Harlen Kessler; and by two sisters Mary Mae Schreffler and Eleanor Latsha. He is survived by two sons, George R Kessler of Millersburg, and Kenneth L Kessler of Spring Glen; two daughters, Geraldine M Heffner of Reading, and Phyllis A Spotts and her husband, William of Mechanicsburg; a grandson, Kristopher M Kessler of Pillow; a granddaughter, Melanie N Spotts of Alachua, FL; and a brother, William C Kessler of Erdman. Services will be private. Burial will be made at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
