Robert Daniel Kauffman, age 78, of 1171 E Main St, Hegins, Pa, died Saturday, June 5,2004, at the Milton S Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pa. He was born July 24, 1925 at Hegins, Pa, a son of the late Jacob and Carrie (Kroh) Kauffman. He was a retired self employed farmer and carpenter. He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, Pa. He was also a member of the Woodman of the World Pitman Lodge. Surviving are his wife of 53 years Mae K. (Maurer) Kauffman; four sisters Clara Ressler of Valley View, Kathryn Deardorff of Harrisburg, C.Irene Schovel of Millersburg, and Grace Hornberger. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers William Kauffman and Charles Kauffman; and by three sisters Mae Otto, Mary Eckert, and Mildred Schovel. Funeral services were held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, 200 W Main St, Valley View, Pa, with the Rev. Warren Egebo officiating. A viewing was held from 10 to 11 A.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins, Pa.
