Click here to view the Video Tribute for Robert Robert H. Herb, age 85, of 258 Forest Drive Hegins, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Schuylkill Medical Center- East, Pottsville. He was born on Thursday, July 12, 1923 in Hegins Twp, a son of the late William H Herb and the late Helen (Sausser) Herb. He was a graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a self employed coal miner for most of his life and also was employed in his later years as a foreman for PennDOT. He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins. He was a member of VFW Post 8237, Valley View and involved with the construction of the VFW. He was also a member of American Legion Post 575, Valley View; Hegins Fire Co. and Valley View Fire Co. He was preceded in death by three brothers Russell, Ivan, and James Herb; and two sisters Sarah Huntzinger and Katherine Koch. He is survived by his wife, Arlene M (Kimmel) Herb, to whom he was married for 55 years. He is also survived by a son, Barry R Herb and his wife Cathy of Hegins; a daughter, Brenda Hall and her husband, John of Hegins; a granddaughter, Stacy L Andracchio and her husband Ryan of Hegins; two grandsons, Robert "Buster" R Herb of Klingerstown, and Shawn Hall of Williamstown; two great-granddaughters, Kirsten L Wolfgang and Kira B Andracchio, both of Hegins; three brothers, Richard "Sonny" Herb and his wife Loraine of Camp Hill, Leonard Herb and his wife, Mary Jane of Valley View, and Earl Herb and his wife Grace of Valley View; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Warren Egebo officiating.
