Ray Allen Bixler, age 10, of 1447 W Main Street, Valley View, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the home of his father in Hegins. He was born on Monday, August 24, 1998 in Harrisburg a son of Travis D. Bixler of Hegins and Pamela S. Bixler of Valley View. He was a member of the Weekenders Junior Bowling League of Strike Time Lanes Valley View, he was an Honor Roll Student at Hegins Hubley Elementary School; a member of the Tri Valley Elementary Band where he was Band Member of the Month for Trumpet, he received 2nd place in the Continental Mathematics League; he was a former member of the Valley View Red Sox baseball team, and a former member of Scout Pack 662 of Valley View. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Delphin and Norma (Boyer) Mauser. Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister, Katie L Bixler of Valley View; paternal grandparents, Dale L. and Nancy (Schwartz) Bixler of Fearnot; paternal Great Grandmother, Hattie Schwartz of Pine Grove; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jan Mills officiating. Burial was made in Salem Cemetery, Weishample, In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to The Danville Ronald McDonald House, P.O. Box 300, Danville, PA 17821.
