Ralph H. Maurer's Obituary
Ralph H Maurer, age 90, of Hegins, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - E Norwegian, Pottsville.
He was born on Monday, May 9, 1927, in Barry Twp, a son of the late Charles Maurer and the late Dora Kessler Maurer.
He was a member of Barry Salem United Methodist Church, Weishample.
Ralph enjoyed, farming, being outdoors, and going for long walks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by six brothers Warren, John, Elmer, Alvin, Harry, and Harold Maurer; and one sister, Lottie Bossler.
He is survived by his wife Gladys E Yoder Maurer, to whom he was married for 71 years.
He is also survived by a son, Garry R Maurer and his wife Peggy of Lebanon; a daughter, Susan M Johns and her husband John of Hegins; a granddaughter, Michelle L Smeltz and her husband Mark of New Tripoli; two grandsons, Jeffrey C Maurer of Manheim, and Kenneth R Maurer and his wife Jenn of Lebanon; five great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; two brothers, George Maurer and Earl Maurer; two sisters, Hazel Minnich and Alma Barnhardt; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, with Rev. Keith Rockwell officiating.
