Phyllis Lorraine Bowman

Phyllis Lorraine Bowman , age 86, of 1018 W Main Street, Valley View, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

She was born on Friday, July 18, 1930, in Hegins , PA, a daughter of the late John Koons and Margaret Ossman Koons.

She was an member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, where she formerly sang with the choir and was active with the ladies group. Phyllis had also taught Sunday School at the Church of God, Valley View for many years.

She enjoyed crocheting, was an avid follower of her grandchildren and their activities and enjoyed putting scrapbooks together of their achievements. She was a devoted caretaker for her daughter Gail.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn A Bowman and a son, Donald Bowman.

Phyllis is survived by four sons, Roger Bowman and his wife Nancy of Lenhartsville, Steven Bowman and his wife Bonnie of Valley View, Lee Bowman and his wife Mary of Valley View, Brian Bowman of Valley View; daughter, Gail Bowman of Valley View; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters, Kathryn Caudell of Beaufort, SC, Ethel Bressler of Newark, Delaware; one brother, Joseph Koons; as well as nieces and nephews.

Services were held at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Duane Bardo officiating.

A viewing was held from 10 AM to 11 AM on Wednesday at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church.

Burial was made in Church of God Cemetery, Valley View.
