Obituary
Philip F Zerbe, age 90, of Schoolyard Square, Pine Grove, formerly of Valley View, passed away Friday, February 13, 2015 at Schoolyard Square.
He was born on Friday, January 9, 1925, in Valley View, a son of the late Philip F Zerbe and the late Lillie A Bensinger Zerbe.
He was a 1943 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School.
He served in the US Army in Europe and the Middle East during World War II.
He worked for Mellon Stuart Construction, Harrisburg prior to his retirement. Following his retirement he worked for many years for the former Midway Supermarket, Valley View.
He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.
Philip was also a member of American Legion Post 575, Valley View and the Laborer's Union 1180, Harrisburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by three sisters, Anna Zerbe, June Hornbeck, and Nellie Lull; and by two brothers Dean Zerbe and Mark Zerbe.
He is survived by his wife Norene M Specht Zerbe, to whom he was married for 64 years. He is also survived by a son James Zerbe and his wife Elaine of Valley View; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial with Military Honors was held at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
