Philip J "Flick" Stine, age 87, of 107 W Main Street, Tremont, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the Schuylkill Medical Center-South, Pottsville. He was born on Sunday, January 27, 1924, in Newtown, a son of the late George and Ruth (Minnichbach) Stine. He retired as a coal miner for the former Swatara Coal Company, Newtown. He was of the Catholic Faith. His wife Fern A (Huntzinger) Stine passed away in 2008. He was also preceded in death by two brothers Robert Stine and George Stine. He is survived by a son Philip "Lee" Stine and his wife Nancy of Tremont; two step grandchildren; two great step grandchildren; a brother Edward Stine of Newtown; and two sisters Dorothy Morgan and Mary Louise Wiscount both of Newtown. A private viewing was held for the family from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View.
