Paul Deeter, age 85, of 62 HIll Road, Hegins, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born on Tuesday, March 19, 1929, in Hegins Twp, a son of the late Percy and Margaret I Geist Deeter.
Paul served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He was a coal miner for several area coal mines prior to his retirement.
He was of the Protestant Faith.
He was a member of American Legion Post 575, Valley View.
Paul enjoyed building things, gardening, and was a true '"Jack of all Trades".
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were four brothers Junior Deeter, Donald Deeter, Elwood Deeter, and Glen Deeter; and by two sisters Leoma Carl and Blanche Kimmel.
He is survived by two daughters, Barbara J Miller and her husband Dan of Sacramento, and Brenda K Deeter and her companion Todd of Middletown, MD; a son, Ricky P Deeter of Hegins; two granddaughters, Ricki K Deeter and Kayla D Masser; a grandson, Josh D Miller; six sisters, Ruth Carl of Hegins, Marlene Lucas of Lavelle, Margaret Reichenbach of Trevorton, Dorothy Conniff of Lavelle, Larae Lucas of Hegins, and June Sweinhart of Hegins; a brother Richard Deeter of Hegins; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at 11:00 am, with Rev. John Wallace officiating.
A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial with Military Honors was made in Salem Cemetery, Weishample.
