Patricia Ann Herb, age 84, of Elizabethville passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024 at her home
surrounded by her family.
She was born January 29, 1940 in Lykens, the daughter of the late Lillian James Hirsch Byerly
and the late John Andrew Hirsch.
Pat was a graduate of Lykens High School, class of 1957. Pat retired as a Bank Cashier from
Miners Bank of Lykens and was previously employed as a Secretary at Upper Dauphin High
School.
Patricia was a life-long and faithful member of St. John's Lutheran "The Hill" Church in
Berrysburg. She was active with the Blanket-Making Bunch "her girls", Sunday School
teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, funeral luncheons, Strawberry Festivals, Altar
Committee, Cemetery Association, Financial Secretary, and Audit Committee. In her spare
time, Pat enjoyed line dancing with her many friends, walking, and spending time with her
family. Pat also had many memories of 30-plus years at Deep Creek Lake vacationing with
family. Pat also enjoyed trips to family cabins, both in upstate PA and western MD.
Pat was married to her lifelong husband, Harold K. Herb for almost 64 years. Pat is also
survived by one son, Tim (Jody) Herb of Denton, MD and one daughter Lori (Tim) Motter
of Elizabethville. Pat has five grandchildren, Nicholas (Abby), Matthew (Nichole), Kenneth,
Glenn, Shannon (Aaron) and one great-granddaughter Malorie. She is also survived by two
brothers, Leo Hirsch and Ronald Hirsch, and a sister Donna Zuber-Whitmer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother James Hirsch of Lykens.
Patricia will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Our loss is heaven's gain.
Funeral services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Berrysburg, PA on Friday, April 5,
2024. Viewing will be held at 10:00 am at the church, followed by funeral worship at
11:00 am. Luncheon and fellowship meal will be held after graveside burial.
