Click here to view the Video Tribute for Palmer Palmer Forrest Bixler, age 78, of 211 E Main Street, Hegins, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the Pottsville Hospital. He was born on Thursday, August 29, 1929 in Hegins Twp, a son of the late Gurney E Bixler and the late Gertie B (Klouser) Bixler. He was a self employed truck driver and had retired as a dock worker for ABF, Carlisle. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View. He was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters. He is survived by his wife Helen M (Wiest) Bixler to whom he was married for 45 years. He is also survived by three sons, Craig A Bixler of Schuylkill Haven, Clark A Bixler of York, and Clayton A Bixler of Hegins; two daughters, Pamela J Kline and her husband, Jeff of Hegins and Polly J Smith and her husband, Chad of Auburn; and by five grandchildren. Services were held at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Philip Sabas officiating. A viewing was held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church Burial was made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
