Miriam H Kimmel, age 78, of 405 Baltimore Street, Donaldson, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011 at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tremont. She was born on Sunday, January 29, 1933, in Hegins, a daughter of the late Herman and Lillian Smith Artz. She was a seamstress for Canoe Mfg, Pine Grove prior to her retirement. She was of the Protestant Faith. Before becoming ill Miriam enjoyed shopping and playing bingo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E Kimmel; by a brother Leon Artz; and by two sisters Dorothy Betz and Minerva "Irene" Artz. She is survived by a son Karl K Kimmel of Donaldson, PA; a daughter Patricia A Hatter of Donaldson; three grandsons Karl K Kimmel, Jr of Pine Grove, Robin Hatter, Jr of Donaldson, and Michael Hatter of Oak Grove; a granddaughter Vicki Ann Barry of Donaldson; four great grandchildren; and four brothers Marlin Artz of Pottsville, Mervin Artz of Williamstown, Robert Artz of Hegins, and Richard Artz of Tremont. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Friday, July 8, 2011, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home. Burial was made in Donaldson Cemetery, Donaldson.
