Miles R "Jecky" Barr, age 81, of Spring Glen, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on Wednesday, August 1, 1934, in Spring Glen, a son of the late Robert A Barr and the late Dorothy Eby Barr.

He was a 1952 graduate of the former Hubley Twp High School.

He was a coal miner for Zimmerman Mining and Lucas Mining, prior to his retirement.

He was a member of Free Grace Brethren in Christ Church, Millersburg.

Jecky enjoyed playing bingo, going out to eat, going to camp, and attending sales.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by his first wife, Gladys M Barr and by his second wife, Betty M Barr.

He is survived by his wife Arlene Barr.

He is also survived by three sons, Robert R Barr and his wife Delores of Sacramento, Ronald M Barr of Williamstown, Randall J Barr and his companion Sally Kissinger of Gratz; a daughter, Beverly A Hoy and her companion Mike Serucsak of Millersburg; ten grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Edwin Kessler officiating.

A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial was made in St. Paul's Cemetery, Sacramento.
