Click here to view the video tribute. Mildred Naomi Zimmerman, age 92, of 404 W. Maple Street, Hegins, Pa, died Saturday, March 5, 2005 at the Ashland Regional Medical Center, Fountain Springs, Pa. She was born in Valley View, Pa, on November 7, 1912, a daughter of the late William Henry and Rebecca Eva (Kissinger) Hoover. She was a seamstress for the former Philmark Mfg. Co, Valley View for 44 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View. She was also a member of the ILGWU and a former member of the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens. Her husband, Lewis B Zimmerman died in 1975. She is survived by three sons Carl D Zimmerman, Millersburg, Pa, Gerald G Zimmerman, Hegins, Pa. and Lewis S. Zimmerman, Valley View, Pa; by two daughters Anna Mae Troutman, Mt. Joy, Pa and Jane R Maurer, Hegins, Pa; by 21 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Richard E Zimmerman, a brother Charles Hoover, and by five sisters Florence Green, Ruth Kimmel, Margaret Hoffman, Elda Evans, and Blanche Felty. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, Pa, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2005, with the Rev. George Reynolds officiating. Visitation was held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial was made in Zions Cemetery, Pitman, Pa.
