Mildred Martha Bowman, age 94, of 5255 Rt 25, Gratz, formerly of Hegins, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010 at The Manor at Susquehanna Village, Millersburg. She was born on Tuesday, October 24, 1916, in Fearnot, a daughter of the late Lewis Carl and Jennie (Herb) Carl. She was a graduate of the former Hubley Twp High School. She had worked as a seamstress in area garment factories. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sacramento. Mildred enjoyed crocheting, reading, and watching tv. She and her late husband were avid campers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay M Bowman; and a sister, Jean Gilbert. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends, who all loved and cherished her very much. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sacramento on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Raymond Holland officiating. A viewing was held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the church. Burial was made in St. Paul's Cemetery, Sacramento. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
