Michelle S. "Shelly" Porter, age 55, of 1719 W Main Street, Valley View, passed away Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born on Tuesday, December 9, 1952 in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Howard "Pete" Arbogast and Lila M. Arbogast of Tremont. She was an electronic editor for BurrellesLuce of Harrisburg. She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins. Her favorite things in the world were her family, being a grandma, the beach, butterflies, music, and taking pictures. She is survived by her husband, Clifford L. Porter, to whom she was married on July 22, 1978. Surviving in addition to her mother and her husband are four daughters, Tanya R Herb and her husband, Darren of Valley View, Marion C Porter of Valley View, Angela J Porter of Nashua, NH, and Nina N Porter of Valley View; five grandsons, Brandon L Herb, Kyle G Mattern, Jr., Conner L Herb, Austin L Herb, and Kaiden L Herb; three granddaughters, Candice Michelle Porter, Kayla K Porter, and Elizabeth N Tibbetts; a brother, Howard "Pete" Arbogast, Jr. of Gratz; and three nieces, Amber, Andrea, and Britney Arbogast. Services were held at Friedens United Church of Christ, on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Claude Schach officiating. A viewing was held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Burial was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins. Memorial contributions can be made to Friedens United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 57 , Hegins PA 17938.
