Obituary
Mary Anna Schwartz, age 97, of Hegins, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on Friday, May 23, 1919, in Muir, a daughter of the late George H Shadle and the late Emma Jane Bush Shadle.
She was a graduate of the former Porter Twp High School.
She assisted her husband in running their family farm.
She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins.
Her husband Russel L Schwartz passed away in 1997. Preceding her in death in addition to her husband and her parents were four brothers, Harold Shadle, Irvin Shadle, George Shadle, and Gene Shadle, and three sisters, Helen Bensinger, Alma Morgan, and Alice Curry.
She is survived by three sister in laws, Ann Shadle of Muir, Gloria Kroh and her husband Melvin of Hegins, and Patricia Moyer and her husband Hilbert of Millersburg; four brother in laws, Chester Schwartz of Hegins, Theodore Schwartz and his wife Katie, Frank Schwartz and his wife Carol, and David Schwartz and his wife Diane all of Hegins; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Friday, January 6, 2017, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Michael C Klahr officiating.
A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home.
Burial was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
