Martin J "Sweet Pea" Serucsak, age 64, of New Bloomfield, formerly of Halifax, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born on Thursday, February 1, 1951, in Matamoras, a son of Shirley C Sweigard Serucsak of Halifax and the late Martin J Serucsak.
He was a 1969 graduate of Halifax High School.
He had worked at his father's roofing and siding business after high school and later retired from Lobar Construction.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 340 and VFW Post 255 both of Duncannon.
He enjoyed trains, flying model airplanes, classic John Deere tractors, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father and by a brother Joseph E Serucsak.
He is survived by three daughters, Janella E Serucsak and her companion Delmar Wiest of Lykens, Christine M Reed and her husband Tony of Halifax, and Teresa A Serucsak of Harrisburg; two step daughters, Liz Dudley and her husband Duane and Mary Wise and her husband Charles both of Duncannon; a step son, Rodney Myers and his wife Shannon of Duncannon; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Michael Serucsak and his companion Beverly Hoy of Millersburg, and Anthony Serucsak of Halifax; two sisters, Roxanne Horvath and her husband Pete and Patricia Myers and her husband Ronald both of Duncannon; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at Longs Cemetery, Halifax, on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at 1:00 pm. There will be no viewing or visitation.
Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
