Click here to view the Video Tribute for Martha Martha Sarah Clouser, age 95, of 33 Clouser Lane, Ashland, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010 at Saint Catherine Medical Center, Fountain Springs. She was born on Friday, March 5, 1915, in Mt Carmel, a daughter of Harry S Kessler and Ida (Klinger) Kessler. She attended the Weishample School. She was a member of Barry Salem United Methodist Church, Weishample. Martha was involved with the Ministry of Music at Salem Church for 75 years. She had the honor of being the first organist at the church. She was also instrumental in organizing the church orchestra. She was also involved in the Christian Endeavor, Otterbien Guild, a Bible School Teacher, member of the United Methodist Women, Sunday School pianist, director of the Chancel Choir, director of the Church Orchestra, a member of the Administrative Board, Pastor Parish Relations Committee, and Worship Committee all at her church. Martha was also a member of the Weishample Grange #1898, Schuylkill County Pomona Grange, PA State, and National Grange. She was a 7th degree granger. In 1997 she received the Golden Sheaf Certificate for 50 years of continuous service. She was a member of the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens and their Dutch Choir; a member of the Mahantongo Senior Citizens; and a member of PPL Live Wires of Harrisburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin F Clouser in 1971; by a grandchild, Brian D Stutzman; and by an infant twin brother and sister, Elvin and Ellen Kessler. She is survived by two daughters Anona M Clouser of Ashland and Grace I Stutzman and her husband Donald of Hegins; a son Harold I Clouser and his wife Ruby of Ashland; four grandchildren Brenda G Powell of Coral Springs, FL, Lori A Klinger of Sacramento, Bruce A Stutzman of Dalton, and Kevin H Clouser of Ashland; ten great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Barry Salem United Methodist Church, Weishample, on Thursday, December 30, 2010, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. John Wallace officiating. A viewing was held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, and from 10 to 11 AM on Thursday at the church Burial was made in Salem Cemetery, Weishample.
