Click here to view the Vedio Tribute for Marlin Marlin Edward Bennetch, age 80, of 117 Quaker Drive, Hegins, formerly of Millbach Springs, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Saint Catherine Medical Center, Fountain Springs. He was born on Sunday, July 6, 1930, in Millbach Springs, a son of the late Marvin Bennetch and Effie (Bamberger) Bennetch. He was a graduate of the former Newmanstown High School. He served in the US Air Force. He was a self-employed dairy farmer. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Schaefferstown. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Andrew Bennetch. He is survived by his wife Nancy C (Steinbach) Bennetch, to whom he was married for 53 years. He is also survived by a daughter Margie A Smeltz and her husband Gary of Hegins; a son William M Bennetch and his wife Donna of Millbach Springs; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister Merle Sherman of Ocean Springs, MS. Memorial services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. Visitation was held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 278, Schaefferstown PA 17088 or Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 153, Valley View PA 17983. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
